broke my maf/ air flow sensor

Post by hpcbmw »

Girlfriends 93 MX3 4 cyl. I was doing a quickie cleaning of MAF (just did it on my 4runner) and messed it up. I removed the two screws and pulled. Of course, car wouldn't start after i pushed it in. I cut the silicone holding the top on and found an extra metal strip that's supposed to be soldered on somewhere.

Any idea what these cost new v. junkyard? Can anyone take a real close picture of their maf so i can see exactly where the piece is supposed to be soldered? (I'm not that good with my $10.00 soldering iron, so even if I could tell where it was supposed to go, there's a good chance I couldn't get it soldered there correctly.) I'll post pics once I figure out how.
Thanks for any help!

even a 90-94 protege reguardless if its a dx/es/lx will work on a mx-3.

I got lucky - got one at pic n pull for $40 (pricey for pic n pull, but beggars can't be choosers). The exact same numbers on the pic n pull one as on mine. Plugged it in and it works! Wheh - girlfriend woulda been driving my new car all week if i didn't get it done today.
