Heres a quick photoshop i did between classes today. Ive been meening to get rid of my "rice bomb" that came with the car and get some bad @ss sounding AND looking exhaust, but never got around to it. The photo i took was just from ebay "twin loop exhaust".

Image

I know it kinda looks fake but you get the point. With how high the rear bumper is i think a modded system like this would look pretty intense.
or a honda crx twin exhaust system. Image
Twin exhaust with 2.5 all the way back. (next project.) :D

ya a guy on here (KP2T) has a nice remus dual tip... looks very nice sounds nice it has that 'throaty' sound to it and is silent and free flowing but for the price ud expect it LOL

That exhuast setup is more for an exotic car. But I bet it would sound nice on an mx3. Ya I know kp2t as well it sounds nice..really deep throaty sound. But I personally don't think its all that free flowing. He needs headers on that thing and I bet it would sound even nicer.

well in that case ill do it with the headers
i would like to have the dual muffler setup like the one in the pic but its close to a grand :?

You can see through stock exhaust by just a little bit too. Free flowing is when there is nothing but the pipe straight through.

His remus will obviously flow more than stock but its still a chambered muffler just like a flowmaster. For most power you wnat straight thru. In his case he wants it sto sound nice but quiet.

Not exactly- If you read some diagnosises on different types of exhaust designs you'll find that the chambered design is a great compromise between extra HP and extra Tq., a straight through is good for HP and terrible for Tq.
I'm not an engineer, but the way I understood the analysis was this- Optimally an exhaust system wants no restriction, but does not let all the air escape. By having the chamber the air has a path it must take and does not allow the air in the tubing from the engine to cavitate. This allows the waves of exhaust to continue more quickly thus drawing more of the spent gasses from the combustion chamber. With no chamber the gasses exit more quickly, but does not allow for the waves to pull on eachother as the throttle changes.
For a much more thurough explination read Corky Bell's "Maximum Boost", where he goes over gas velocity and waves. He acutally recommends a chambered exhaust on NA cars b/c they do not have the force of air pushing the spent gas from the combustion chamber during the exhaust stroke.

i never said it was straight thru.. i said it was free flowing and i bet u it flows enuff to be callled that
