get the headlights so clear?

I have 2 sets of them, and both look really dull and yellowish...
does the sanding really work?

A lot has to do with which side is yellowing. Some times the yellowing is on the inside. The dullness can easily be removed by wet sanding and slowing working down to like a 1500 or 2000 grit before going over the lens with a plastic polish. If you have a small power buffer it will make it that much better than just by hand generally the polish works better when a little heat is generated. To finish it off give it a final wipe with Plexus to get it as clear as possible. I see that you are in Calgary I was just in Totem a few days ago and saw that they had Plexus in the patio window section at a good price for the big cans. Other wise you could find it at a motocycle shop and some Canadian Tire stores had it.

Or get a body shop to sand and re-clear them. I sanded mine down and my buddy put fresh clear coat on them.

I went to Advance Auto Parts and they had a little kit in a silver pouch the had a few different liquids in it that you rubbed on then off. It was only $20 and was guaranteed never to come back.

actually get the foose ball (mothers buffer ball) omg way better than trying to hand polish it yourself, makes so much of a difference.

Blue Magic Plexi Glass cleaner - rub on and rub off - I do it every 3 to 4 months, keeps my 14 year old headlights clear.
