Can u bolt a RS tranny onto KLZE/DE/K8?
If so do you have to have custom axles fabbed ?

If anyone is asking why, its because of the gear ratios
Ratios: MT RS MT GS
1st 3.42 3.31
2nd 1.84 1.83
3rd 1.29 1.31
4th 0.92 1.03
5th 0.73 0.80
Final Drive 4.11 4.39

I used a set tire size for my calculations 185/65 14 (dont ask)
RS top speed @ 7000RPM | GS Top speed at 7000rpm
162.98 139.22
Gear by gear
RS GS
34.78 33.64
64.65 60.86
92.22 82.02
129.31 108.13
162.98 139.225

The way i see it the RS tranny has a much nicer balance in gear ratio than the GS,
It offerers the initial Low gear, and then moves higher and higher, meaning my car wouldnt cruise at like 4000rpm...

hmmm I'm using a 626 tranny and those speeds are even higher than mine @ 7k... and I am using those exact tire specs right now LOL

maybe I should go to the junkyard and grab an RS tranny :D

but how did you calculate the speeds? I mean even though it can do 162.98 in 5th gear @ 7k how much HP is needed to produce that speed?

cause right now in my klze at 142 mph I am at 6.6K rpm

those speeds are all theoretical, Just using mathematical formulas...
I was to lazy to figure the formulas out so i just used these that i found.
I cant find the site right now but ill post the formulas
Using the tires i have on my car,
205/40/17
205mm x .40 = 82mm
82 x 2 (2 sides to a tire..) = 164mm
since rim sizes are in inches you have to convert mm to inches
164/25.4=6.4566
add rim size (17) = 23.4566
Engine Rpm(7000) x 23.4566= 164196.8504
Final Drive x Gear Ratio
4.39x3.31=14.5309
14.5309x336 (not sure where the 336 came from but its what was given...)
=4882.3824
164196.8504/4882.3824=Top speed

One more time
215/45/18
(((215x.45)x2) / 25.4) + 18
25.6181x7000=179326.7717
(4.11x.73=3.0003) x 336
179326.7717/1008.1008=177.8857MPH RS 151.9677 GS

Again this is all theoretical... meaning the motor might not be able to pull to this, however this should change cruising rpm by a ton...

215/45/18
(((215x.45)x2) / 25.4) + 18
25.6181x?=?
?/1008.1008=70

70 x 1008.1008=70560.056

70560.056/25.6181=2754.304808RPM with RS
82602.24/25.6181=3224.370269RPM with GS

that tranny will not come close to working and if you do get it to work....then to power it will hold is nowhere near the power the stock tranny will hold
