I'm needing to replace the shocks/struts on all fours but mostly the rears. Though I'm mechanically inclined, I've actually never done struts, only the basic shocks. How simple is this procedures for shock/strut replacement? Any tips or trick appreciated.

Thanks

It's pretty easy. All you need outside a regular socket set and normal assortment of tools is a set of strut compressors, which you can 'borrow' from Autozone with a deposit.

you dont even need a spring compressor, although i do use them ive heard from guys at work, what they do is that as long as you have access to the bolt at the tope of the strut you can undo that and slowly jack up the car, thus relieving the tension.

Theres a few tips and tricks that you'll learn from doing them. One thing to note is the holes and notches on the struts and strut mounts. These need to be aligned for the strut to go back in properly!
