Help please, mx-3 wont start after swap

I just swapped my k8 for a klde

It seems that there's no fire, the engine crank but won't start and it seems to supply gas

I tried to get the codes (paperclip and CEL trick) but it does'nt work, I changed the CEL bulb and it does'nt help, I even tried to hook a tester directly on the cluster plug pins.

I'm using the distributor from my old k8 wich was working, I also have the k8 cams and I am 99% sure I installed the timing belt proprelly (timing marks + piston 1 up)

I'm also using the vaf and ecm from the k8

The only thing that I can figure being installed wrong are klde instake vaccums

I think it's either fire or electronics but I'm no mecanic... It's been a week already since the car is on jackstand and I'm tired...

are your spark plug wires installed in the correct order?

Thats an easy mistake to make.

well yes, if it's the same order as the k8, but then again, even if it would be in incorrect order I would still see a spark no?
Now it shows no sign of spark, But I don't wanna blow my money on a hei mod if it's not the problem, is there any way o see if my distry's good w/o knowing is my electronics are?

If this only happened after the swap then i doubt it the dizzy.

Firing order starting fron the passanger side rear head is
1 3 5
2 4 6

Dizzy cap is labled.

Check for loose or not hooked up connectors.

Vacume leaks

And why did u use k8 cams in the klde?

Did you do a compression check?

ok on the k8 distri it's not the same firing order labled, it's

546
123

but I tried the firing order you gave me, it still won't start.
Anyway, I have no spark at all

The engine had no cam when I bought it.

It's suposed to be off a probe that had a ze swap, the guy who sold me the engine seems to have a great reputation on probe-mx6 forums and told me that the engine was good, I don't have the hardware to do a compression test

There's prolly vaccum leaks but wich are the ones that would make the engine unable to start? the klde and k8 intakes are not quite the same (anyway.. I still have no spark)

The K8 cams have the same angles, they have less lift but more duration... and I figured out it would be fun to try insteand of blowing 150$ or more on used kl01 cams and sooner or later change them back to kl31...

My bad, i should have said cylinders are labled
1 3 5
2 4 6

Basically hook #1 cyl to #1 on the dizzy and so on.

take teh dizzy off and make sure its not 180 out.

Have you removed a plug wire, put a long screwdriver in the boot and put it near something to ground out on in the engine bay? do that and have a friend turn the car over to see if you got spark there.

ok I tries your method and I have definatly no spark, I also tried to see if my dissy was 180degree off yesterday but you can't pu it wrong, it just don't fit cuz the cut in the where the dizzy "hooks" is not death center (not like a no trespassing sign if you like lol..)

But a guy on another forum told me it's normal that my car won't start if the CEL don't come on?!

So you 100% dont have spark. Ok so there is something else wrong. And you made sure everything electronic is hooked up?

hmmmmm im stumped.

Well everything exept the intake..
Image

the circled module has no plug on my k8 harness (or it's really well hidden) and the two big plugs migth be inverted.

Hmm where does the vacume lines from the solnoid go?

I would start hunting for blown fuses in the fuse box.

Oh and you did get the crank sensor and knock sensors hooked up right??

BTW are you standing on your motot? lol

Go check that crank sensor!

All fuses are okay

I was beginning to undo so stuff under the intake to get the vaccum lines hooked proprely but the rain showed up :x

The crank sensor is the thing near the base of the dipstick right? I got it from the k8 but maybe it got hurt while transferring, this idea has been tickling me for quite a time right now but I don't know how to test it...

edit: oh and yes... I'm standing on my motor!!! lol

I just left it alone, the poor little thing...

I just checked my crank pos sensor and it's all good according to the resistance readings..

can you borrow another disty from a friend see if it would work ?
We kind of running out of ideas
I know you said it was working before but something might have happened to it while transfering ?

Like I said on the quebec board, make sure everything is connected correctly. Sounds gay but has happened to me lol

I no nobody who owns an mx.

Anyway, I charged the battery for the whole night and my CEL resurect

I got my codes too

5 knock sensor (but I cleared, and it's gone)

9 coolant temperature sensor (it's broken since yesterday)

25 fuel pressure regulator control solenoid

41 vris 1

46 vris 2

i don't know what's wrong with the vris, and I don't know where is the fuel pressure regulator control solenoid.
