5 speed questions....

All,
I've been thinking of getting some more top end on my MX-3 (92, KLZE, blah, blah, blah). Anyway, of what I have been able to find out is:
1) MX-6/626/Probe with manuals SHOULD offer better final gear than 4.39:1. They also offer a better 5th gear as well.
2) The RS's with the manual have a better final gear and have a better top end gear setup in the tranny.
3) Auto's have a better top end gear than the manuals (obiviously).
Here are my questions and yes they are "interesting":
1) Will the internals of the RS's manual interchange with the internals of the GS?
2) If so, will they hold up to a non-modded 1.8? 2.5 DE?? 2.5 ZE???
3) Can you use the auto's Ring and Pinion on a manual??
4) Was there ever a MX-6/626/Probe that came with a L/S?
5) If so, which model??
