99 Octane and Advanced Timing Deg?

Post by Tommy D »

Hello, i hava a KL31 ZE and a J spec KL31 ECU. In Japan they use 103RON octane i read, but in the US you guys have 95RON. In the UK the fuel to use is 99RON Shell V-Power.

Most peeps set the ZE to 10deg TDC i read but where should i set the timing running 99 Octane?

Is there a chart, I know the ECU can partially learn but im just after every last Bhp, lol

Any help would be great, thanks 8)

The timming should allways be 10deg TDC when idling at 650 rpm. Then ECU adjust timming automaticaly when acelerationg. Thanks to a knock sensor in the K serie, the ECU try to advance as much as possible until knocking occurs. Then it stops advancing or retard it as needed.
Since that, I think the higher the octane is, the far the advance can go.

I may be wrong, dont know for sure. I'm here for learning about this car as everyone else so...
