I was just wondering if there was something I could use to clean the headlight with instead of wet sanding? If anyone has suggestions let me know.

hi,

When i made clear lenses your of the oem lights, i wet sanded them down first, but that was just to make the inside smooth. Then i went with turtle wax polishing compound, then to some crest toothpast, then i used some singer sewing machine oil and a dremal polising pads. then the lenses were as clear as could be

There used to be a FAQ thread on this in the Appearance Forum but I don't see it now. Here are a few links that should help.

I have used some plastic cleaner. I forget who made it, but it is listed in Barry's post. It works great, but last only a few weeks. Is there any way to get the results to last longer, like maybe a year at least?

I used a "Headlight Restoration" product... on one of those "Powerball" polishing sheres (the multi layer spherical foam on a drill bit mandrell thingys from Mothers)...

They work and work well. MUCH faster than by hand or dremmel... about 15 minute per lens and they were looking good.

Just wet wet sand with 1200 grit, clean real good with soap and water so as not to let any chemicals that will make the clear coat paint that will be applied.
Mine look great.
