I've been wondering the same thing.. I was told I should only need to swap a bell housing and the rest would be a bolt up/plug in affair. This is in regards to my 2.5L. (or the 1.8L v6) I would love hearing any more info on this..

if its a 1.6 kia sephia it should all bolt right up. if its a 1.8 kia sephia will it will bolt up but u'll need to modify some shyt like the top tranny mount flex plate and toruge converter axles and modifly the half shaft to bolt up to the B6 block if it can.

It's the same thing, would you think that a Probe or an Escort is mostly Mazda unless you found out otherwise? Just need to find out one way or another. Speaking of Kia, look at the Kia Rio Tuner, it actually uses a Mazda BP, and if you know the BP, you'll understand why some people do turbo it.
