ECU upgrade?

i was wondering if any one knows anything about some ecu upgrades. i have a 94 k8 and id kinda like to keep that untill i kill it but i wanna get alittle more power out of it. my buddy chipped his v6 mustang and i could feel a huge difference. so my question to you is what is availbe for the k8 and what would be a good upgrade with prices maybe. also if any one has personaly expericanes with companys like jet that say thell tune your ecu if you ship it to them for 500US. thats kinda steep and i dont wanna be with out my ecu for a month. any help would be great thanks

if you wanna spend 500. you can either put a little more and get a ZE or get a standalone.

500 gets u a sweet megasquirt standalone... with a pc-uplink for live-tuning and Engine Stats..

$330 Ebay.... Search ebay for better deals or longer auction times...but they seem like a stand-up seller...
Splice or build your own harness on a printer cable connector...
It's a GREAT system...friend of my like i think i said, runs his turbo 13b Gen2 RX-7 on one....
My plan is megasquirt...it's cheap, functional and actually has some better tuning options thanks to it's being open source and community upgraded..
I plan to use a High-Quality low-guage wire 15' shielded printer cable and cut the other end off....
The seller has harnesses...which may be better then my plan...but my cable costs less
