Stalling problem

Hey, this may be something stupid but nothing i searched for would come up with anything. If i take my dipstick out, the engine idles really rough... If i take off my oil cap... it stalls. Now i never heard of this, i know i need a valve cover gasket. What could it be?

there's a vacuum that is created and needed. when you pull the dip stick it disrupts it slightly due to the small diameter of the hole. when you unscrew the cap you open a big hole and the vacuum cannot be maintained and the engine stalls.
someone might have a better explanation, but that's the reason.
