Cel light newb

Post by Tropical Emerald 1993 »

If anyone can refer me to section in manual or answer this about cel codes:

1. There are two GNDs. does it matter wich one I use?

2. When I jumped TEN and GND cel didn't go away or blink. It just stayed on along with oil and light.

sure is a good thing i looks this up. I just relized i've been using the other GND haha. Oops. Thats the diagram for ya. Turn the key to on, and watch it flash. If it does flash, there are no codes.

If your not getting anything, and your CEL comes on, Take of your neg batterie cable, hold the brake for 20 seconds, then put it back on. That will clear your ecu. Now, go for a drive around or let it run for while. Then check for codes.

European cars may not have CEL functionatilty - you can use a test light between FEN and B+ to mimic CEL

I did FEN and B+ and the result was the same as TEN and GND - all lights were constntly on and no flashing. It was said if there are no codes CEL would go away. I can only try with the engine on :?

test light -> FEN & B+
jumper -> TEN & GND
turn ignition on - but dont start the engine. If there are any codes the test light should flash - if not it will turn on briefly and go off i think.

:)

ok test light is that screwdriver with little bulb in it. So I'll take one of 12V and put it in FEN or B+ while jumped TEN&GND and see what happens.
