I am looking for a cheap receiver with usb input and also HD and XM/sirius capabilities. I was looking at kenwood kdc-532 which seems to have those features - but i am confused about the HD/XM ready part. Some web pages mention that additional tuners may be needed to make use of HD/XM - but i cannot find those tuners for sale. So can somebody help me demystify this and maybe suggest other options. Thanks in advance.

Yah the JVC deck that I did a write up about is highly recommended. No it does not have HD, but is sat radio ready. Alpine makes one with sat radio built it, not sure about HD. Also, http://mobile.jvc.com/hdradio.jsp is HD radio, but no USB.

I figured as much - do you know where to get those tuners - i searched for them (briefly) - seems they are not that easy (or cheap) to find - there's one at crutchfield for 200 bucks!!!.

You can go to any stores like K-mart, Walmart and get an entry level sat radio receiver for as low as $40.

Are you looking for a specific model? Cause Kenwood still makes sat radios. They've got the Sportster, I think that's the name, and the Heretoanywhere, which I have.
