hey, iv'e had that same problem with mt gs.you need to get it checked out right away.its your trans.most of the time its an electrical transaxle problem. but with mine it was stuck in overdrive witch is'nt good.cause it means your car is leaving in third gear each time you go.it ended up costing me $1700 and that sucked.so get it checked soon

Does the car shift in and out of whatever gear your in? EX( whith the shifter in 2nd does it shift from 2nd to 3rd to 2nd or what? I personally think it's just a connection. I had a distributor problem with my 95 4cyl and during testing everything on the car I found with one of the ECM connectors unplugged that the hold light would flash. Plugging the connector back in it was fine. I'm not saying that your ECM connector is the problem, maybe a burned wire, or a little corrosion on the wrong connector ECM, TPS, ATX. I would look up the sections that cover this in the online service manual and troubleshoot it a little further.

Most of the time if you start seeing your hold light flashing or going on for no reason then that means your tranny is dying or about to die. By this time you are probably noticing problems with the car shifting properly.
For me its a sickening feeling to see it go on cause if it does then it means I am probably going to have to spend a lot of money on a new tranny.

does everybody think that (if i ever have a problm with my transmission) that it's smarter to put in the manual? i would rather have a manual, but i'm not going to spend the money to switch it over now....does it cost a lot to do that?
heather
