fluid leaking sound when turning?

whenever i turn the steering wheel it sounds like fluid is leaking or losing pressure. I'm wondering if the steering wheel pump is starting to give up? Its hard to explain, the steering still feels fine but its just this noise, when almost on full lock theres a point in which the sound of fluid moving/leaking just keeps on going. In conjunction with this the brakes have started to feel very spongy, still very effective but i can push the brake pedel right down to the bottom without much effort and theres plenty of thickness left on the brake pads. Any help woulld be greatly appreciated, if anyone needs to know anything more about the problem then please ask but thats about as far as it goes i can think of off the top of my head

for the cup holder thing get the ones that clip to your heater vents...they work awesome...just be carefull with them...my brother has a probe and he breaks the fins off all the time...but i never had any problems..
