This is kind of an odd question and also noob question if you may but, my car needs a new battery badly. Atm it has the old Walmart special in it from the ladie before. My question is, I live in a place were it gets really cold (like today was -36c) but I also have a suond system ni my mx3. Should i just go with a cold crank eliminator or would a deep celled battery be the best? My specs for my system are in my signature. To me its not much and right now all electrical runs perfectly and i do not drain my battery (hint the capasitor).

get a higher voltage amp and about 600 cca. that should it for you.

Deep Cycle batteries are designed to handle being completely discharged. Regular batteries don't like to be completely drained, it's not good for them, literally hurts the battery. As well, a deep cycle battery actually has *less* cranking amps than a regular battery.

I've got a Nautilus Spiral Grid deep cycle in mine. It's got 950 MCA, so it's been cranking over pretty good. I haven't really been running my system but I've got an amp that peaks at 1100 watts driving two higher-end Kenwood dual voice coil 10" subs. No problems so far, and I picked this thing up out of a junk pile. Canadian tire product number 10-2490. It's basically Exide's answer to Magnacharge's Optima Blue Top.
$169.99 for a new one though... Depends what you want to do to your stereo.
