New pistons in the mail and their purrrdy!!!

Post by Spinkx79 »

I finally got a set of pistons for the rods i got last year, they are Diamond Pistons and are 10.1 CR, ceramic topped, moly coated skirts.

They are built to the beefy 4340 forged Millenia S style rods, w full floating wrist pin.

I bought a set of 7, with all the trimings (ceramic, moly skirt, plasma rings) and it all came to around $1000 CAD. But i bought a backup.

"The price per piston is $68.00 or $408.00 for six. Wrist pins are $6.00 each or $36.00 for six. A set of rings custom matched to the pistons is $100.00

Total price for everything is $544.00 not including shipping

Coatings are available at an extra charge as follows:
Ceramic top coat is $21.00 per piston or $126.00 for all six.
Moly skirt coat is $15.00 per piston or $90.00 for all six."

John,

Ya after tossing it around many times i have decided against MS, with the amount of dough in so far, another grand or so for a true EMS makes more sense to me. If it was a ZE w boltons i would have no problem with MS. Plus i just bought 2 books, "How to Understand and Modify EMS" and "Accel DFI 6.0" <<may have the titles a bit off the books are at home.

Why are you getting rid of it?

And FYI it looks like someone is buying the SC plans from Aldorin. Have your plans changed?

And to all other MS users, please dont post me how good MS is and how cheap it is in comparison. The coil pack idea would be nice, but i already have a complete MSD 6btm setup.

Pistons u can get on PT, after the BB is done they will offer BB price perm only through the PT member though.

U will need to find a set of the rods, again done in a BB on PT there were 2 runs of 10. I was in on the first, im sure somone will end up changing plans.

I have DE and ZE heads (I change my mind alot), i have interprep springs and new DE retainers. Other than maybe smoothing out the exhaust and O ringing them, thats about it. Oh, custom Colt Cams, i have turbo cams but want and have cores in at Colt for a more agressive SC grind.
