Hatch (cargo) cover help

I am going to fabricate a cargo cover but need some help with the dimensions. What is the overall length at each of these dimension points, at the edge, at the angle and at the center indentation? How far from the edge is each dimension change? See my crude sketch. What is the pivot pin diameter? Thanks for any help.

That would be almost impossible to give exact dimensions on. The best idea would be to purchase a new one from someone on here, there is a company that makes a simple flat replacement version (don't remember who) or mold a new one from your old one out of fiberglass like I did.

I replaced mine over 11 years ago with MDF and just cut to fit the given measured dimensions and putting a radius on the rear part. Then with a thinner fiberboard I attached a lip/skirt to the rearward portion to make a better seal. I later used a speaker friendly fabric to cover the complete top portion which gave it an almost oem appearance. It made a great foundation to mount a free air sub and gives better sound deadening from the rear cargo area. I'm afraid I recently placed the near new original rear cargo cover on my daughters MX3.

Evilyeti.com is where I was talking about that makes/sells a replacement hatch cover.

Thanks for the info. After some additional measuring, cutting and fitting I ended up with the cover for my son's car. Total cost for some fabric, cord and salvage plywood was about $6.00. See the links below for some assembly pictures.

Why do you keep bringing up old posts?
