If you're so concern about disty position you could simply mark original position of it so then you bolt the new one on the exactly same place.

If you miss the position for some reason, put the engine in diag mode (TEN+GND) and adjust the timming with a timming light...

Then again I wouldn't be so concern as our engine retard the timming as need so you never get detonation. Thank you Mazda!

Am i able to use a disty on a probe GT as well? Because I know i have one at the junkyard but I am going to take the one of the mx-3 if there isn't one.

the probe disty works i done it when mine went the junkyards around here dont have any mx3s insted of takin my disty out all i did was change everythin inside the ignition module, rotor, the cap, and i assume the crank sensor not sure tho had to take it apart a couple time to get the rotor right and then advance the timing just a hair works awsome now but if ur concerend about changin that stuff then do the whole disty but yes a probe will fit identical

Yes, the 93-97 Ford Probe GT(V6), Mazda Mx-6(V6), Mazda 626(V6) distys all work on the Mx-3(V6) engines. The insides have different coils, of each year disty. But no need to exchange the insides.

well i am low to the ground so i scooped him up and when he hit my hood remember where the disty is located right there on top to the front and thats what the deer landed on. going to the junk yard dismorning and getting a new one.

I am not sure about a 92, because the kl wasnt in the 626 until 93. I would be cautious of this one.

cap and everything because that is setup a bit different and the plugs for the disty are set up differently but look the same. When i looked at the engine it looked the same to me.
