Black Diamond Warping Problems
Posted: October 25th, 2006, 8:00 am
About 10 months ago, after finding out all my brake disks needed to be replaced I decided to upgrade to grooved disks and better pads. They were worn out by the way not warped.
In the end I fitted Black Diamond disks and pads all round. I have done about 5000 miles since then and the front disks are now warped. Almost all of these miles have been commuting to work and the car has never been near a track of even driven hard on the B roads so I have no idea how they have warped. I seem to remember the initial judder after an emergency stop from about 70mph but surly this shouldn't warp disks that I was under the impression are an upgrade to the Mazda parts! This was about 3000miles after fitting them.
I e-mailed the supplier and due to the time I have had them they said they could not help and to contact Black Diamond. I e-mailed BD nearly a month ago now using the enquiry form on their site and I have heard nothing back - not even "sorry we cannot help you" - nice customer service guys!
Just a few questions-
Has anyone else had warping problems with these disks?
Is Black Diamonds customer service always this bad?
Can anyone recommend disks that will last a bit longer than these - what a new Mazda ones like.
Thanks in Advance,
