well one tube is to vent the pvc system ..actually thats what both of them are for. I have one tho.. i wonder why you have two? unless its the vacuum line to the prc solenoid.

Heres what I found out :
Hi schrauwen,
I have now bought and am ready to install the CAI ( hoodzy how to ) dismantled the stock intake okay, but I have one question.
****What are you doing with the small ?vaccum? pipe, just in front of the VAF on the airbox. *******
Its a 4mm internal diameter rubber tube.
Thinking of tapping a line into the piping, I have the technology, does it need to be before the VAF like the oem fitment ? Its a lot eaiser to run it to just after the vaf and before the throttle body .........but do I even need to bother, can I blank it off ?
I have been searching the online manual for it, and I can't find it.
You can see it on this pic ( also showing the bonnent stay mod ) between the vaf and the bolt for the OEM air filter housing.

Hi Silver
It's a common query that people have when doing the CAI install. Go to
http://www.mx-3.com/index.cfm and go to the online shop manual page F2-006 and F2-007. Although the first page is much better and you'll see your vaccum line that you're referring to. It needs semi protected air but not a vaccum source. It goes to the EGR Vent / EGR Vaccum Solenoids that are normally attached to the rear side of the IM not far from the TB. It's not a vaccum line at all. Now you can simply plug it if you're not running an EGR system in your MX. I believe you're running a ZE, correct? Which doesn't normally come with an EGR but there have been a few that have migrated their EGr to the ZE engine for emissions purposes. Although I don't have an EGR, I still have the 2 solenoids in the car if the need should ever arise for me to re0install and egr in the future. So I just have the whole hose removed completely exposing the nipple of the EGR Vent Solenoid. I hope that helps you with that. What I should make mention is that you should retain the PRC Solenoid that was attached to the side of the airbox. It has a 2 wire connector attached to it the traces back into the wiring for the VAF. That PRC Solenoid is connected to the FPR and it's vaccum source should be nearly beside where the FPR is attached. Basically, going by page F2-006 you'll see how the vaccum is routed from the vaccum source to I believe the bottom of the PRC Solenoid and then back to the FPR. You'll probably see my posts wrt to it's purpose when doing a search on "PRC" or "FPR". Hope this helps and good luck, cheers,

thank you a lot , Bullet.
now i am less concerned.
As fot the A tube, do you guys think that this can be monted there ?
Breather Filter HKS Style
A breather filter relieves your engine of positive crankcase pressure and recycled carbon vapors from your engine, which cause loss of throttle response due to build-up on the throttle body. The Super Matrix Breather helps resolve that problem, by venting the vapors into the atmosphere. Each kit comes with a Mounting bracket kit, Breather filter, and an allen screw to mount the breather filter to the mounting bracket.

Tube A provides vacuum to the valve covers. I'd leave it as it helps pull oil to the heads.
Tube B should be hooked up to the fuel pressure solenoid or directly to the fuel pressure regulator. Either way, that's an important tube if you want to pass emissions testing at idle.
