94 RS Tranny Problem

Ok today, driving normal I tried to shift from 3rd into 4th and it wouldn't go, no grinding or a bang or anything just like their is a wall or a stop there perventing it, or so I just assumed 4th is gone. Shift into 5th everything is good drive down street coming to stop sign, down shift to 3rd then down shift to 2nd well it's having the same problem as 4th just won't go. So I come home try to back into drive way and reverse is the same thing

so now I ask what might of happened or what else it could be
now I know likely i probably have to take tranny out and replace/fix this one

but it just seems odd i lost 2 4 and reverse all at once

Check your linkage towards the tranny. That maybe your problem is the universal maybe hitting something. I have a weird problem where my universal is hitting my mount bolt in the back. WeRd.

sounds like ur trannies blown ive gone thru 2 trannies in 4 years its a cheap job to pay for as its easy compared to most cars or u could do it ur self the last tranny i got was one with 88000 on it for 250$ canadian they seem to be around 3-400 usually tho.not sure if ne one nos this but could u swap in a different set of gears (stronger) different ratios.

I don't know about gears, but you could swap in a different transmission... you could put a stronger protege, kia sephia, or ford escort tranny in.

Hey BoOdog what did you have to do to fix your tranny? My car just started doing the same thing.
