Curtklze when we use to hang around with the old TO Mx-3 crew said there was an SUV in Japan that was AWD.
I think/heard the Grand Vitara uses a k-series (or similar) in the early generations, no?
Mazda did made a prototype "MazdaSpeed" 626 that used a ZE and was AWD

it could be posible by swaping bellhousings between the v6 trannys and the bpt awd tranny's. dont know if they will line up or not. but a adapter plate would not be hard to make.

Actually the plate is more of a problem than you might think. Look at that post that was on here a week or so ago that had the ZE (or maybe it was a DE) Miata. The guy is a freeking engineer and used a fair amount of knowledge and experience in making the plate so that it would fit a RWD Miata trans. I know that is different than a AWD 323 trans, but I bet it is not that different in complexity.

the capella came with a klze awd setup, and rumor has it that either 95 or 97 there were manual awd trannies, i cant remeber which date. But from what i've found mostly is that they were all automatics, i have yet to actually find a manual version that was awd

A 5-speed manual gearbox is combined with reinforced clutch and full-time 4WD system to transmit the outstanding power while retaining traction.
