Log in not working

When I log in It's going through and redirecting me back to the index like it should no errors, but then i'm not logged in so i do it again and i'm in but all the forums are marked read when i know there not. Any suggestions..by the way it always works the second time.

Troubleshooting done before posting:
1)cleared cache/cookies etc and reset browser defaults
2)tried multiple computers in different locations
