What transmissions can be implanted into a manual MX3 V6? And which would be ideal to match a KLZE? Please list year, make, and model of donor cars. Especially the year

I've got a tranny from a '93 MX-6.

93-97 Probes, MX6s, MX3s, 626s
They go for really cheap and are exactly the same except 2 of these trannies have a different FD gear

Or you can always go for a J-Spec low mileage Lantis LSD tranny
They are a bit pricey though

i've been looking to replace or rebuild my stock k8 transaxle, but now that a klze is becoming an imminent prophecy, i was wondering if i went ahead and got klze-matching tranny for now, and attaching it to my k8? would that work alright? a jdm mx-6 transmission connected to the k8?

You can use any of those trannys listed above. There is no special KLZE tranny. Just get a decent clutch.

such thing as a 6 speed tranny in a mx3?

there is no 6 speed mx3.

the mx6 and 626 g25m has longer 1-5 and final drive gears.

mx3 and kl probes have the same 1-5 and final drive gears.

steeb, if mx6 trannies have longer gears, what effect will that have if driven on a k8?

k8 wont have the torque to push taller diff gear. it will make car slightly slugish. like driving with retarded timing untill hight rpms you wont fell much diffrence. cept the car is goining faster but feels slower. and gas mileage will improve.

so the best bet would to be get a mx-6 tranny for my mx-3, then.

why would u do that? MaxKL just explained that the k8 doesn't have the torque to push the mx-6 tranny's longer gear, making the ride feel sluggish... just get the mx-6 tranny with klze, that's all i see. thanks

what New Parts did you put in your klze when you got it, 666? (clutch, flywheel, belts, pulleys, disty, etc) or how much of the original klze engine did you leave as is

its not necessary, most people with klze use the mx3/pgt transmission cuz it fits fine. u can get the mx6/626 mtx if u like it will give you longer gear ratios. the ze is actually very fun with the mx3/pgt gear ratios.
