I live in california, and about 20 miles from me is a scrap yard where i used to go for all my acura integra used parts. there are a few specialty shops and small private "project car" dealers. I went to one of these project dealers, and one of the cars, was a nice little blaze red mazda mx3 sohc 1.6 manuel transmision. at the time the paint had a little oxidation, which was easly taken care of. I purchased the car for 950$ (including tax). ive been driving it for about 3 months now and the only work ive done on it to ensure its reliability is a new water pump and timing belt (as well as general metenance oil changes, spark plugs ect). it has already been on a 7 hour road trip without any hastle. basically, do u think i got a good deal? it does have 153k miles on it, but as far as i can tell, it doesnt burn any oil at all.
heres a picture of the front (the white areas on the front bumper have been taken care of too):
