engine revs high when started

wheter it's hot or cold or been running for a while and turn off and started back up. my rpms go up to about 2 and a half or so then it takes awhile for it to go down to normal idol. iv'e been told it might be a sensor or something but im not sure.

I see you made no mention of mods in your sig or in the post, so I'll go by that. You may have a faulty IAC (ISC) sensor. Use those terms in your search on how to test for it's integrity. Quite possible that your throttle linkage is in a state of dissrepair and needs to be lubed or inspected for freedom of movement. No mention if this was a gradual situation or was more of a sudden occurance. Slim chance that it may require a TPS adjustment. Possible need of TB cleaning also. Lots of key words in here for you to do your search from since you made know mention that you did that first. As a newbee, it's necessary for you to do a search prior to posting since it's counter productive to continually re-post same remedies/solutions to similar problems.

what he means is use the search and its a sensor under the throttle body

myn idles around 2000 when i start it cold then when it heats up i got it set to 900. only adjust your idle when your car is good and warm so you get a true reading from your tack.

u can low it or rise it.... the thing so u can change it by the throttle body all u need is a flat head screw driver n turn it 2 the left 2 lower ur RPM n if u turn it 2 the right ur RPM 2 up..... make sure u dont go 2 down if not ur car is gonna feel funny..
