I want to get my exhaust housing ceramic coated. How hard is it to take this thing apart?? Anything special I should know?

Then use a rubber mallet to rotate the housing enough to break it free. Once its turning a bit you can back the bolts out and carefully remove the turbine housing. Try not to let it cock on much of an angle to avoid damaging the turbine. Then send the housing off to Jet Hot, Swaintech, or Calico Coatings to be coated. When you get it back you'll need to check the turbine clearance by putting the housing back on and torqing the bolts back to Garretts specs. Then see if the turbine wil freely spin by hand. If not, remove the housing and use a Scotch brite pad to remove the interfearance until it does rotate freely. Be sure to clean it well before finally reassembly and I recommend using Loctite on the bolts for final assembly.
