Best spark plugs for ZE?

Post by 2RotorsNaDream »

I seen on Corksport that they sell spark plugs that they say are best for the KLZE. Anyone know exactly what plugs they are so I can go to a local store to get them and dont have to pay that rediculous shipping price? Also, any suggestions on better spark plugs than those sold on Corksport? I'm still running the stock ZE plugs and want something better and maybe alittle colder.

Corksports sells the NGK BKR7E-11 as ze plugs. Thought most of the people run 6's. I ran the 7's in my ze for over 4-5 years without a problem

Is there any big difference between the 6 and 7s?

not that much just another range colder (from 6 to 7)
normally you use COLDER plugs in a HOTTER engine aka heavily modified so it dissapates heat better.
go with the 6's, they are very easy to find

I ended up getting the 6s because nobody had 7s.

We, LPG's people, are advised to get spark plugs a bit cooler that normal and to gap them 0.1mm less than normal. That's because of higher temps in combustion chamber... :o
So, I use BKR7E-11 in my K8 because normal would be BKR6E-11.

Talking about ZE's. Compression is higher that K8. Although there's more room for the fuel (fuel cools down combustion chamber) I guess temps would be higher too. So I guess BKR7E-11 is right for ZE just because of high compression.

Missing something in my thoughts?

what about the fact that many people that have purchase their ze's came with 6's ? I know 7's run great for a fact. That's what I always used

Well, then I just must agree with you... :)

So, 6's are standart in MX and 7's are only for hotter modified engines

But, what if you choose 6's for winter time and 7's for summer?
That way your engine would be hot soon enough in winter and cool enough during high revs on those hot summer days
