Well, I bought an Omnifi DMP1 from a friend. It's a discontinued product from a Rockford Fosgate subsidiary. Turns out it had a 30GB hard drive too. Score.
I didn't know how to mount it since it doesn't come with a normal faceplate cover that most decks come with.
However, I had a rare stroke of genius and decided to hack apart the plastic tray that normally sits in that spot which otherwise only holds useful stuff like business cards and gum wrappers.
Here are a few pics to show off the work:

Alright, the first headunit, the sony, handles the 6 disc cd changer and normal deck functions (radio,cd's, pre-outs, etc).
The 2nd unit the silver OmniFi is a MP3 player with a 30gb harddrive built in. It does all mp3/wav/wma files and such.
It can wirelessly sync your collections and all sorts of crazy things. Its great.

Since the DMP1 comes with two USB ports for connecting network or storage devices to it, I decided to hack in a pair of USB ports in a more accessible location.
I took one of those expansion slots that you normally stick in the back of your computer that gives you extra ports and plugged it into the front of the console, right above the ash tray. I think it looks pretty slick.
I can now plug in the wifi network card accessory and sync up wirelessly, or I can plug in a USB thumb drive and it will detect and play the MP3s on that too. Pretty nice setup now.

Hey good job with the USB.
Check out my thread about the JVC KD-AR870, it's got usb input to. SO usefull.
i also recomend getting a pair of these http://www.mycableshop.com/sku/MUMFRCA.htm
if you have line input. Works great if you dont' have a usb cord handy.

Very nice and clean. it appears you're starting to lean toward the PC side of the ICE world. If so, may I recommend something that would make an easy transition for someone breaking out of the routine generic HU install into the next stage of In Car Entertainment.

And if you feel inclined enough to go to the next level, you can add this. All of this would mostly be plug n play for the first timer.
