removing secondary oil pan??

does the secondary oil pan remove easily?? Can i just remove it without taking anything else out except the steel oil pan??

**secondary oil pan is the alluminum pan that the steel oil pan bolts to!!

I'm not as familiar with the B6, but yes it should come off easily. The only other thing to remove after the oil pan would be the oil strainer. Then pry the baffle off....

That's the Main Bearing Support or girdle that ties the crank together. If you were to take it off, you could drop the whole rotating assemb...

Thats not going to fall off if u take it off don't it plenty of times.

ok so the bolts holding the pan on would be under the steel oil pan??

are the bolts holding the steel pan alos for the alluminum pan, or is there more under the steel pan?? ALso is the alluminum pan the only thing that will come out(oil pump, crank pulley)?

What, the heck are you guys talking about. the seccondary pan does not pull the main caps down too. or the oil pump, crank pully.

Yes there are more bolts under the oil pan. they are star pattern bolts. and yes the oil pan bolts hold the seccondary pan on as well. you dont need to tap the seccondary pan for your return, the oil pan is sufficent.

He said that where they drilled the pan there was oil coming out. This is why he wants to drill the uper pan. THis is where I have mine and have had no probs.
