Beware stainless brake lines..

Bought them from corksport and have had them on the car about a month or so I guess.. Long story short.. they just about killed me..

If i've said it once i'll say it again
DO NOT BUY FROM CORKSPORT
Nice that they carry stuff for us and occasionally make something for us. But they overprice everything, make and sell crap.
Glad your still around though

I sent them an email and have gotten no reply. I dont expect one. If they dont do something for me about this I will be posting this on every mazda and escort forum there is about what happened.

wow! thats crazy! if u buy stainless lines for brakes buy the ones from goodridge they have been tested and proven!

That is what Corksport sells.

Stainless lines are not DOT approved in Canada.

yea corksport also sells them but they also sell ones they made themselves...were those corksports or goodridge franko? by the looks of em they look to be corksport..

I plan on going with a Goodridge set soon. Let us know if this is the Corksport set of the Goodridge set. If so i'll know not to buy.

Not really sure what this topic proves... if anything.
Your OEM rubber lines could have done the same thing.
All of the MOCA guys have SS lines and have had no problems-- even after many years, with lots of mountain runs and track days.

What the topic proves is that these lines are brand new.. are supposed to be better than the originals and have failed within a couple of months.

I have had a set of SS brakelines on my 77 cj5 for five plus years. They have definitely seen their use in Mud, snow, sand, and daily driving. Like all things manmade you sometimes get a defective hose. I think this is what happened. You still have not said if yours were corksport brand or goodrich...tell us!!!! If they are goodrich your beef is not with corksport.

corksports clutch line is good however its very delicate... you gotta be carefull to screw it it nicely.. its nice i guess

Franko,
It must suck that this happened but don't blame Corksport unless they deny to give you a new line. You probably got a faulty line just like a couple of the members said. It isn't worth it to rant over something you didn't resolve before you even called them up and told them your situation. See what they can do for you before you start something not worth starting.
