Today was my last hope. JDM interprise- f2unning- lighthouse imports- foren auto- bigboys toys- and another who was recomended all refuse to install my MSnS. Its supposed to be so simple. I printed all the info , purchased everything im supposed to need. Now im asking thr forum for help. Im over $7000.00 into this "lawn ordament" . I live in north idaho, my zip is 83869, near canada and i will pay a resonable price for anyone who has done this b4 to install it for me. Im sure i could do it myself with some time but with all the rejections im to nervious to try. Id be willing to travel if 100% nessasary. SOMEONE STOPP THE MADNESS.

it was DESIGNED for the do-it-yourselfer.

Get a soldering gun & some solder and start wiring it up!

There are plenty of forums with more experienced mega-squiters to help you out with your troubles.

Then probably he is the best person to walk you through the installation....

No, I did. Along with already burning him a KLZE msq, sending tuning software, and links.
Probably more than most would have. I didnt just slap an ecu in a box and ship it off, Ive been helping along the way.

Fact is, megasquirt is indeed for the do it yourselfer. You cant buy the system and expect to have someone put it all in and be done. If you cant do some wiring by taking a little time and energy to read links that tell you what to do, MS is probably not for you. Wiring it is the easy part, wait until you get to tuning

All it takes it reading, seriously. I can answer questions but it gets redundant when http://www.megasquirt.info lays EVERYTHING out and explains in such simple terms that you wind up with pages and pages of info.

Way more than I have time to do. Hell, I just sold the MS off my car to go to V3 for coil packs, I dont run a biz or anything.

If you can do an engine swap, wiring in MS is cake. Go search the PT electronics forums, thats where I found all the info.

Everything he said is true. He has been awsome and alot of help threw everything. This dude is killing himself trying to help, no conserns with rebel at all. Wiring is just one of those things that make my mind go blank. Ive done far more than just swapp the motors on my car but wiring for me just isnt somthing i can understand.

Dont be afraid to cut the wires man : ) (i know i was) Just leave ur self enough wire hanging so u can alwasy put it back how it was if things dont go as planned. If you have instructions just follow them to a T. Read one step....look at the wires...read it again..re check the wires (location and color or pin number) recheck....then either cut and connect or splice into it. What ever it calls for. Before you know it ur done. Just make sure you solder ur injector wires. and have good connections on everythign else.

Also helps if u cut some of the harness that keeps it all bundled together. And spread the wires out so u can breath and see whats what.

Too true and my biggest problem. LUCKLY The professional who installed my MSnS didnt get a chance to try to "take a wack" at getting it to run correctly so i just saved $200.00 . Now im going to download the written instructions on troubleshooting and try to figure out wtf the problem is. I hate to say it but if this dosnt get finished soon im going to dump it. I hate to beacuse i love the car but im over $7000. and its still not done. OH FYI i want to take back the statement about my DZ springs... They suck.

Hang in there man. I was in your shoes when I started with MS. It is a lot to learn but seems simple after you get the hang of things. Have you searched the probetalk forums?

How does the car idle? Where are you running the map sensor line to? I ran mine off the FPR nipple on intake runner #6.

Is it rich? Stumbling on acceleration sounds like the acceleration enrichments will need some adjustment. But overall is it runing smooth? Does it run at all remotely like stock? Search probetalk electronics forum for "megasquirt wiring" and theres a lot of info.

You have it hooked up to a laptop to watch the gauges right?

car BARLY idles at all, VERY rich but nothings tuned yet so its to be expected. as far as the map its going to where the virus vaccume was b4 i took them all out. i just gotta figure it out, my pefrance has always been to use $$ insted of brains. Wiring to me is about as fun as a having wasps in my underware.

Hmmm.... still should have ran decent considering that msq was supposed to be for stock injectors. However I cant verify any of the settings, I didnt write it. youll have to go in there and make sure all your settings are right.

Dont get ready to throw in the towel when you havent even tried tuning yet. keep us posted.

It could also be ANY number of things. Especially one of the GM sensors not reading right or wired right. Thats why you need to get in there and see what the gauges are telling you. thats the first step
