This time I found a keeper! ('94 GS) UPDATE!

Post by Kenzie »

Update: Scroll down for the new pics!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After 6 years it looks like I've finally found the MX-3 that will last me a lifetime!
When I bought my first MX-3 I looked for a year before I found my '92 RS MTX. I traded a '91 4 door Geo Prizm straight across for it. At 207k the headgasket blew and I didn't have anywhere to store it while I saved to fix it. So, sadly, like many MX-3s, it ended up in the salvage yard.
A few months later my boyfriend, knowing I was heartbroken, bought me my '92 GS MTX with a KLDE. It was love at first sight...even more so after I drove it! Now my beloved GS has fallen into disrepair thanks to the salty roads of Wisconsin. Soon (Spring '07) it will breathe life into another GS...
My new love...
This is a horrible pic but it's the only one I have for now.
I bought it from a girl in Oklahoma for $1300. The tranny is out but as I said above, it's not going to be an auto for long.
For all the info and my plans for it check my Cardomain page:
Oh, and thanks to the ppl who have already posted comments in my guestbook. If you haven't already then please do.
Sorry for the long post...I'm just so happy and I knew you guys would understand. :wink: If anyone has any useful info on the ATX/MTX swap please PM me or check out my post in the V6 forum. Thanks!
At first I didn't like the white, mainly because our RX-7, MX-6 and GS are all black. Now I kinda like it. I'm thinking about having it repainted and adding a heavy metal flake/glitter to it or maybe an iridescent clear coat. (I know, I'm such a girl!) Also, since the front spoiler is ripped off, I'm considering the MazdaSpeed front and sides.
The only thing that worries me now is that my GS will turn out looking just like Barry's RS. :lol:
I'll try to get some pics tomorrow if it's not raining.
I like white too. A pearlescent touch to the Mazda white would be quite nice and I wish I had done so 3 years ago. Nice choice too in selecting the MazdaSpeed accessories too. Not over stated and suits the likes of the MX very well. Maybe Barry will be jealous of your finished product too.....LOL. Congats on the find and good luck in it's evolution.
Good deal, you've had a run with the MX. 94s are so hard to find and almost never a V6.
Yeah, I know! I looked FOREVER for a clean GS and finding one that was a '94 was a HUGE bonus! That's why I really don't mind that it's an auto.
Which we've now learned that by swapping the auto tranny internals w/ Escort ZX2 internals you can make them super reliable! If you'd like more info on this just let me know and I'll try to get my tranny guy to write up a "how-to" or something.
The hatch visor was for sale but all I got were low-ball offers so I took it off the market. I might put it back on the car eventually but who knows. Some days I like it, some days I don't. :lol: I know, I know, typical woman!
