Just outta curiosity why do u do this? I have never seen any reason for someone with a ZE to shift at anything higher than 7,000 RPM. The car starts loosing poer at around 6,500 RPM...there is no reason to shift at 7,500. Thats hurting your time.

Outta first i wind the RPM all the way out just to catch 2nd gear at a respectable RPM. But outta all other gears i shift at 7,000 RPM...but it really depends on your Dyno, and where YOUR car makes its power up to.

Hmm... I'm courious about this, and maybe some of you can advice me :D

I'm used to drive cars where normal you normally would have a RPM that lies around 2000-2400 RPM (on roads with speed limits between 20-50mph), and I'm used to shift gears when the cars reach around 2700-3000 RPM.

Now, for my Mazda Mx3 V6 that's a "problem" as it has severely higher RPM ranges... that makes me unsure when I'll shift my gears, and also what would be my normal RPM range when driving in speed limits between 20-60 MPH.

Should I drive my cars on around 2500 RPM, or maybe around 3500 RPM??

I've always heard that you would kill your motor if you drive at high RPM ranges like 3500 and above,... is this correct?

I know that for speed battles etc you would need to press every gear shift as far as possible (means shifting gear around 6500 RPM), but for normal driving that isnt normal for this car, or?

Please advice, as I'm very confused about this! Thanks!

what i've always heard is if you drag get it dyno'd...

then shift 100-500 rpm after the torque curve starts to dive...

Hmm I shift at 7500 in 1st, 7500 2nd...7500 3rd... :D But I kind of want to blow my engine up as I have another engine to put in my car, and won't be driving it this winter as I live in residence in toronto so I have no need for a car. So far it's LOVIN the abuse.
