I need info on door parts

Okay, so the part I'm talking about is the door check, or as it is refered to in the Online Shop Manual, 'Checker' on S-008. As we all know with these old cars of ours, especially in my particular car, the door just swings when it is opened. I want to get a new checker so it can feel like a new door. My driver side door barley stays open. The passenger door ALWAYS closes on its own. I can have that door open on a downhill and it would still close (exaggerating but you know what I mean!). So are these door checks the same ones used on an Escort? I figured I can get them at oemfordparts.com since they only come out to $17 each. I want to avoid going to the junkyard, since these are wear and tear parts.
