What type of trany fluid should I go with to get the best out of my trany and what kind is it?

gm syncromesh is pretty good stuff. Before using it second gear would grind alittle when shifting. After switching, it almost instantly started shifting smoothly into second.

75-90 is what ur looking for.

Redline Shockproof. Don't compromise.

I use the Redline MT-90 listed above it is a 75w90 and it works great. I don't think that you can go wrong with any on this list though. Just don't buy anything like Mobil One or stuff like that. If you want to skimp just use ATF.

Shockproof is better. I've used both and its an easy conclusion that MT-90 isn't as good.

Ive never heard of/seen redline shockproof .... do they sell that on this side of the world ?

Hmmmm. I have never heard of Shockproof either. Maybe I will search around for it the next time I have cause to change my fluid out. IE...the next time I pull the axles and don't feel like re-using the expensive "Necture of the Gods" that I already have in my tranny.

With some older trannys I know that concerns were expressed about additives in GL5 fluids. Are there any issues with brass or soft metals and normal GL5 fluids in the MX-3? Do you need to spec a GL4 for that reason?

I have one of the Redline 75w90 fluids in my other car. AM currently running cheap CDN tire 75w30 in my mx-3 as a flush, so I was looking at what to replace it with.

I don't know what GL5 and GL4 are, but the issue is that some fluids use a sulfur additive and that will eat away at the brass synchros. That is why we say do not use Mobile 1 b/c it has sulfur in it.

The list above is a good source. All are good fluids, each have people that swear by them, so pick one.
