race gas

Post by fieromx3 »

hey im just wondering if i went to the track and filled up with race gas would there be power improvement on a turbo car? i mean without any tuning? or is the purpose of it is using race gas and tuning it and trying to advance timing maybe cuz of the higher octane??

You should be able to turn up the boost a bit more with racegas and not be worried about detonation as much.

You don't need anything like 114 anyway. 97 or 100 will be fine for a couple extra pounds of boost.

I know this is common, but read Corky Bells book on turbos. He gives a chart on boost and octane.
