Okay guys here goes. I currently have a T3 on my b6t and am looking to upgrade. I want to go to a T3/T4 to keep the manifold I am using. Id like to go ball bearing as well....but.....I am not tooo keen on what all the A/R ratios and trim numbers mean..I guess what I am saying is if I give someone the numbers off the turbo I have now...can you help me pick a new turbo? Help?

goals of around 275-300whp. before the engine rebuild I was at 225 at the wheels. Now I have stage 2 miata turbo cams, 1mm oversize valves, ported and polished head, weisco pistons, and bla bla bla....

Why don't you just go T3 Super 60?? That would get you there.

I really dont know man....Just figured if I was going to upgrade I might as well go with a t4 inlet. I have to keep the t3 exhaust because I just got a new manifold.

I second the T3 Super 60, lots of guys here running that on turbo Hondas etc and getting some serious results.

how much boost you want to run ?
just like that I'd say a t3 super 60 too but that might change depending the amount of boost you want to run

definatly the super 60,

the only Ball berring turbo i would go with is the GT series. and if you wanted to put up with some lag you could go with a GT30, you could make over 300. but a GT28/71R will get you to 300 with a spoolup around 3K.

but way easier to go with the super 60

The only reason I would switch to a T3/T4 is if I had a Built engine with the capacity to run 30psi. Then I would run a T3/T04e :) Cause I have heard of a BP 323 with one of those that would pull on anything on the highway... 1/4mile was only like 10 or 11 but the guy said he would pull on GSXs, Vipers, even a Lambo or two.

GT28RS is what you need for the 280-350WHP...VERY good response and was what I was going to run on the street. As for A/R a .63 A/R would be a good choice for a fat power band. My GT3076 doesn't make any real power until 5000RPM w/ a .82 A/R exhaust housing. It makes boost as low as 2500RPM but not more than 5psi until at least 4200RPM. There is are several R-series turbos between the 28RS and my 3076R. One step down from mine is the 3071R which spools 1000rpms faster and is rated at 450HP (mine is rated 500HP). There are I believe two more between the 28RS and the 3071R which are larger variants of the 28RS. Exhaust housing A/Rs affect both spool time and power output. Thats why I choose the .82 A/R instead of the .68 A/R. The .82 A/R spools slower but makes more top end power (I'm planning on using a LOT of nitrous as well). If you went with the 28RS and no larger than the .68 A/R exhaust housing I think you'd be pretty darn happy with it due to the response it still has (should spool just as fast or faster than a T3 Super 60 and yeild considerable more power!). If your still thirsty for more power I'd just start spraying on the top end. This will give you a really fat power band on the street and you won't have to worry about lossing due to lag. My car isn't bad out of the hole but it really needs to rev 10,000 RPM in first and about 9000-9500 RPM in second. My turbo starts spooling in first, FRIES the 245-50/16 Falken 512's through 2nd, drops boost between the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts because the motor doesn't wind up far enough. 3rd gear breaks traction and pulls hard. 4th and 5th pull just as hard as 3rd. I NEED nitrous to go with mine unless I change to a smaller A/R exhaust housing.

Doesnt the GT turbos use a different exhaust inlet flange than a t3? Also I am running external wastegate and the "super 60" seems to be internal only?

I have a super 60 put on my car now. I would not recomend a t3/t4 on a 1.6.. I have a buddy with a t3/t4 on his 1.8 integra and he has to rev the crap out of it to get it to spool.. Has a smaller exhaust side too. Its just so big..
