speed sensor and airbag

I have a 94 mx3 bpt and speed sensor does not work. Will this prevent airbags from working?

no it shouldnt it could just be the bulb

at the time i had no speed sensor at all. there was no gear in the tranny.
i found a way to install the speed sensor.
