 Tell me its not true!

My favorite:
"When you think 'bloody' in America you think the red liquid that flows from human bodies which is usually a sign of some kind of violence," Sharp said.

This is going a little overboard.

if the average child who hears "where the bloody hell are you?" thinks of actual blood then I feel pretty sure that they need to wear a helmet at all times. In fact the AFA should be required to wear helmets. Way to take the US back to the 1800's with the censorship people. You did it!

Depends on how you look @ it.

From what I have heard the term used "Bloody" refers to the blood of Jesus. If this is true, I would be highly offended as well.

Trust me, the term "bloody" refers to no such thing. Where did you hear that? Look here for a start:
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=bloody

Do a search on this very board for the term "bloody". Seems odd you'd take offence at it now after all the times its been used without comment or complaint.

Did you look at the ad?

Haha - thats a good dictionary! Number 7 is a bit out of place and I'd be suprised if anyone could actually trace it back to Number 1 - seems silly enough to be plausible though. But even if Number 1 was true, he even says "nobody really knows that or cares" which is pretty right.

If it was the case and people wanted to complain about it, we'd need to ban words like darn, gosh and jeepers as they would have the same pedigree. :D

Its such a common term I don't even notice it in conversation.
