Are you sure you guys aren't confusing Mazda's idea of dropping a detuned renesis in the current Mazda3-converted RWD? I believe something similar to the old RX-3s?

I highly doubt they'd bring back the MX-3 while still trying to push the Mazda3. Unless, it's a replacement or they market the Mazda3 in some off-shot category.

KABURA is a concept car that embodies the highest elements of Mazda's Zoom-Zoom ethos.
"KABURA" is a Japanese term taken from "Kabura-ya", an arrow that makes a sound when fired and was used to signal the start of a battle. The "first arrow into battle" depicts Mazda's spirit of pursuing unique and exciting ventures.

Designed to be an inexpensive entry into the coupe market, the Kabura is clearly marketed at the younger “tuner” set. According to von Holzhausen, “it is still very much a concept, but one for which we have done our homework.” The MX-5 based Kabura will sport a 2.0-L DOHC I4 engine, putting out an impressive 190-hp. Later renditions may include the company’s signature rotary system, but only time will tell.

Seriously, who wants some gas hogging POS of a engine that burns oil all the time while providing weak Torque?
