I am going to be changing out my clutch and a few other things. But what is the Avg. time spent on re-moving the K8 out of the mx3?

Depends on your experience with motor swaps..

I could have a k8 out in about 1-2 hrs.

Its pretty easy

Remove the hood!!!!

remove the axles, remove all fluids, unplug all harnesses/hoses, remove the rad/fans, lower crossmember and transmember, chain it up, drop the mounts, and SLOWlY remove the engine to verify nothings connected still. Have someone guide it as its being raised on each side of the engine to be safe. Tranny comes out still attached.

I recently did mine and have never done this before. The longest part was using colored zip times and tape on the vac hoses, harness plugs, coolant lines, and whatever esle needed unpluged. Took me a couple of hours to label and a couple of hours to remove.

Follow the online manual its pretty good and detailed. It forgets to show some steps, but you can read between the lines.

Hey you say that you are onl doin your cluthe why dont you just drop the tranny out og the car its easyer and saves time for sure. I can do a tranny swap with putting in a new cluthe in like 3 hours or so.

I agree, dont drop the motor for a clutch. Just drop the tranny.

I am doing a few other things to not just the clutch. I am going to change out the lower pulley and the belts plus headers and polly engine mounts. Plus we are doing this so we know how to do it so when I get the KL-ZE I can drop that in quick.

Don't forget to save some headaches, if you have A/C and power steering. Remove the pumps and leave them attached, and then pull the engine out.

The a/c pump is 4 12mm bolts and the power steering is a couple 14mm bolts.

no u mis-understood me...pull the pump off the block while its in the car, and the when u lower the engine back in bolt the pump back on the engine. Then you don't have to re-fill the PS or mess with bleeding it and all that crap. Just less mess then removing the powersteering lines and all that fluid goes everywhere. and then when you re-install it you have to turn the wheel and re-fill the resivour keep doing that til the fluid goes through again.
