Why would a 75-shot add ~100 WHP??

I am just curious i went and dyno'd my MX-3 and made ~162 WHP, Then i have a 75-shot ZEX, and i dyno'd it with that and i only got about 1500 RPMs with nitrous cause i guess the guy dynoing the car kinda let his foot up when the first initial kick hit and the nitrous wasn't spraying after that..LOL

But just in that same RPM with the maps overlayed i gained ~100 WHP, and the car wasn't even in its powerband. Afetr looking at the Dyno they were saying the car would have got up to 270 WHP, which would have been ~110 WHP over the all natural Dyno. But in the section that it did measure i got ~263 WHP.

Does anyone have an explanation y it did that??

75 shot kit, or you did you set it @ 75?

I'm not sure i follow the question?

The 75-shot is what ZEX rated a 75 Shot for their wet kit.

Meaning.. was it a set 75 no gauge, or thought maybe a 100 Shot dropped to 75 lbs.

Just curious if it was maybe a faulty gauge?

I'm still lost here. What gauge are you talking about?

You let someone else dyno your car?

Well over here you "personally" can't dyno ur car. The owner of the shop gets in your car to do the actual dyno pull.

every place i've gone to they don't let you dyno your own car...liability issues or something.

im confused are you saying the shop did 2 runs with nos or one aborted run?

and any nos kit is a general rating i have seen mags test kits and get more and less power than rated.
also if its a zex dry kit and you install it with zex's recomended nozel place ment 3' away from tb i think you will give the nos a longer time to cool the intake charge and make more power. at least according to zex

and a dyno looks at the time it takes to accelerate a known load so if u just tested the nos fore a sec. or 2 than it cant be an accurate reading

2 runs all motor, and one with about 1500 RPM's with nitrous..lol

Well i know they are estimates, no body can gaurentee a certain HP with nitrous. But saying 75 Crank HP and me getting approximately 125 Crank HP is a lil far from an estimate.

Actually i have a WET kit, and the nozzle is like 3" if that from the TB plate.

Well i am suppose to go back and dyno again, cause now i have the fuel issue fixed and the car pulls soo much harder. I wanna see the new #'s.

what was the new hp pull on this? i have a dry 75 shot i'm about about to add to my egt and i'm curious what you got ... plus some guy on feoa.net claims that on 4 bangers when you adda 75 shot kit you really only get about 20-30 hp out of it

You realize this is like.. over a year old.

does the fact that this is over a year old mean he no longer exists or never got another dyno?

Damn this post is old. Well come to find out there was this little piece of plastic stuck on my fuel jet and that made it inject fuel slightly less. So it netted more HP due to the normal A/F ratio of 10.0 that i ran. Under this nitrous pull it was down to about high 12/Low 13 A/F.

I went back and re-dyno'd it on a diff motor with a 100 shot and got a nice 12.5 A/F and it netted me 100 WHP...So i was happy.

From what i read and seen a 50 shot adds about 40WHP and a 75 was about 65WHP...but every company has different jetting combos so they will be slightly different.

see it wasn't pointless to dig up the thread :)

thanks for the info... still deciding weather or not to hook up this free dry kit i ended up with
