so i got a 12 in alpine sub in the back wit my amp and all that, and it was sounding great.. but now all of a sudden from inside the car it seems like im not getting bass response, i dont know if its how i have my sub positioned or what , but when i let the back seat down its still hitting but it seems like when there up its somehow insallating the sound in the truck, so from outside the car its still hitting just as hard. i just cant figure out why it doesnt hit from the inside anymore

Its because your back seat is down, put it back up and it will sound the way it did.

nah the problem is when my seat is up , and i got an alpine 700watt sub, see the seats were up and it sounded fine then my box got shifted around coz its not bolted down, coz i plan on taking it out whenever i find an mx3, but then i put it back and it sounded like it wasnt hitting or something, but only from inside, so i checked all the wires and everything was good, but it sounded good when i let the seat down but i cant figure out what happend first, i didnt know if i had it positioned some special kinda way or something

What sort of car is it in now? hatchback or sedan? how is the sub facing?
from what i've been told, in a hatchback the sub should be positioned behind the seats, firing rearwards toward the hatch..., whereas in a sedan boot/trunk, the sub should be position at the rear firing towards the seats......

even if you intend to swap it into another car later on, you really should secure it somehow, if you have an accident......, bad things!

yea i got a sedan for now, and i had it facing the rear so maybe thats the prob.. and as far as securing it im gonna just be using some carpet tape or something coz i dont want to drill into it or anything.. but i figured its florida so if anyone hits me from behind florida no fault there automatically at fault

first make sure your box & wiring are secure
then bolt them in..

dl a bass cd
make sure everything in the radio is balanced & at 0

then pop in the bass cd & tune ur sub with the gain on the amp & if the amp has a cross over on turn it on

back when i had a single 12 in my old sedan It hit better when i turned down the gain

I woudlnt; be worried about someone hitting you from behind. Its when you hit somebody, and your car stops moving, and your subs don't stop moving until it hits you in the back of the head...

Oh and a klenex box killed a girl once. Hit her in the head, instant death.
If a klenex box can kill someone flying at 70 miles an hour, imagen what a subwoofer would do?
