For the past few days Ive been watching the GUMBALL 3000 in Europe. Oh My God that looks like serious fun, would love to do it. Some awsome super cars competing ferrari's etc, the wackyist car was an Ice Cream Van, complete with ice cream and cones. How cool - No pun intended LOL.

As thats a 3000 mile drive, I was wondering whats the largest distance you guys have driven in your MX3 (or other) and how many times did you have to fill up?

I have driven from Manchester - Glasgow and back in one day. Must have been a moment of madness. My girlfriend was playing in her first big concert, she wanted me to see her play but I had work the next day I wanted to suprise her, so I went down that day with a big bunch of flowers and gave her the shock of her life.

Manchester to Glasgow, 207 mile full tank, just over 2.5 hours
then Back again 207 mile 3/4 of a tank about 3 hours.

I was doing alot of tailgating on the way back , saves a tonne of fuel on long distance plus I was going a little slower.

414 mile about 5.5 hours travelling time

Hmmm, not exactly what I would call long distance. Let's see, I've driven in the MX from Toronto to Victoria (Vancouver Is) and return a couple of times, but not under any time constraints. Oh, and that was pulling a trailer with my motorcycle. I did the same thing a number of years ago with my Celica in 3 days (I thinks it's around 5,000kms one way). I've been known to travel after work for 2.5 hours to an MX3 meet, hang for a while and then head home again. It's not a big thing to knock off 600 to 700 kms in one day. Would it help by saying from Lahr Germany (south) to Roosendaal Holland (west) in one kick. Maybe that's why I'm sitting close to 300,000 kms on the MX.

Back in the day when I had my civic I drove 350 miles without stopping for anything (no gas, no bathroom). That took me 3 hours and 45 mins.

For my MX the most I've driven was somewhere around 440 miles. Which took around 8 hours (crazy traffic). Filled up twice (2.5 tanks).

Both those trips were on the same road. The first time through with my civic there wasn't any traffic the entire way and I was topping out the whole way there. When I went with my mx it was bumper to bumper.

I drove from my home town, Brandon (Manitoba, Canada) to Mesa (Arizona, USA) It took 2 1/2 days.

The best part of the drive was going through the boot of Texas on the straight flat highways :driver:

you might wanna check that, becuase that means you averaged 160mph for 5 hours, and well I doubt that highly....maybe, but i doubt it... anyway I've gone back and forth from new hampshire dozens of times 650miles, drove from texas to pa 30hours
didn't do it in the mx, but I drove from PA to Cali... 4 days

a bunch of us drove from Pennsylania to Daytona beach and back a couple of times for spring break. We'd drive straight through for 17 hours, for a three day weekend. Then drive our hung over arses back home.

Havent done much mileage in my MX3 yet but drove from Melbourne to Port Douglas in Australia about 2000 miles. We had a hire car so time was money (hire cars- fastest cars in the world :P) It took 4 days with me and a mate co-driving and sleeping in turns .. had to stop a few times when the tiredness kicked in so bad I started to hallucinate. First time it happened I was sitting on about 90 mph in the wee small hours somewhere in Queensland and I kept seeing this jogger outta the corner of my eye- plain as day- he even had a beard ... I knew I had to pull over and when I did my pal woke up and had a go , called me a liar, every name under the sun cuz I was only like an hour into my stint . So he takes over and I crawl into the back and am instantly out... I wake up to the sound of him laughing hysterically and sayin he's sorry he didnt believe me .. he just saw an elephant standing in the middle of the road lookin at him. I kid you not , true story lol

lmao!

An old friend of mine once drove over 2200 miles in 33 hours. But he did it with 2 or 3 other guys and he didn't have any stories as good as that one.

Longest was from Pueblo, CO to Elk City, OK which was around 11 hours. I've also driven from Chicago, IL to Joplin, MO which was about 10 hours.
