I've read in this (brilliant) faq, that all 2.0 litre mazda's also have a G series tranny??? So all 626 and mx-6 out there with a 2.0 litre engine have a g-series tranny??? Is this true??? Here in holland it's reasonable easy to get one of those. And not a pro lx tranny, since the protege wasn't sold here.
It also states that you should get hold of some axles from the car you have the tranny from. But can you not use some mx-3 V6 axles??? It uses the same tranny, only a different housing. If not can I then use some 626 axles or mx-6 axles??? And it also states that you should get hold of some MX-3 GS front hubs, but they're the same as the normal 4 cyl. 1600 hubs aren't they??? So I can still use those.
Last question: Should I also use the flywheel and clutch from a 626/MX-6???
And will there be any trouble in connecting the speedometer, shifter assembly and clutch assembly???
I know that it is probably asked a million times, but there is so much information availible here that I can't make any heads or tails from it. So if someone can give me a link where I can find answer to these quetions I already would be very happy.

IS it maybe possible to put the G-series internals into a F-series tranny. So you would keep the original F-series housing, with the G-series internals???

Why would you swap out the internals?... I'd think the housings are a little different anyhoo, prolly the G-series one is a little bigger in some respect.

Whatever tranny you use, you have to use the flywheel and clutch that was used with that.

Don't you have Ford Escort GT's?

The FS 2.0L does use a F25M tranny with the exception of the MS Protege which had a G-series tranny which some marketing guy made to seem like some new performance piece by using the name of the company that makes all the MTX FWD trannies instead of just saying it is the same tranny that was used on the old (BG) LX & EGT.
