Hi guys, I got my deck installed today along with my screen, but when I press the gas, its making a mad high pitched sound, kinda like driving a electrical car, lol.

I'm thinking it might be because I didn't ground the 2 wires probly, if thats the case, is there a nice sopt I can ground it with out cutting myself reaching for it?

Or if its somthing else?

Thanks

For shame  Always ground the ground wires :!: Find a bolt on the chasiss. Or if you have the installation manual that came with your unit follow their procedure.

Have a nice day :)

I did ground them, just not on the car, lol, more like on a pecice of metal.

Can both wires be grounded to the same bolt? or do they have to be far apart?

thanks

The same bolt is better and easier :2thumbsup:

**Make sure they are ground wires. If they are not they may be above ground wires    Very funny right :?:

ok, right now, if I play at a low sound level, like around 3 to 5, i can still hear that high pitched sound, but not very loud, not as loud as before. But if I play it normal, like above level 7, i can't hear it anymore, i know its there, just not loud enough for me to hear.

is it suppose to be like that? or is there somthing i can do to get ride of it?

You may want to visit your local Car Audio Shop, they will hook you up with a small device called a noise filter or some other nifty gadget that may be new on the market to eliminate alternator noise. Keep me posted.

BTW- make sure the ground wires are secured properly making a good connection and not loose.

I simply used the ground from the factory deck with mine. I cut the end and spliced the wires, then soldered it together for a good connection and then taped the end.

(I soldered all my deck wires to the harness... makes for nice good connections)

Wire nuts work well also.

Wire nuts are good until you have 10 in a small space... then they suck, and they get caught on things.

Inline soldering (so the wires look strait) and wrapping means a smaller bundle, so easier to do.

After I did that I taped all my wires together too so they are pretty, won't get caught on anything, and don't take up much room.

One warning: the ground wire is a larger gauge wire than the deck wires, so if you are using a stripper instead of a blade, watch out for the thickness.

Aside: I'm enjoying my new Pioneer DEH-P4600MP. For $150 CDN it is nice. (Especially since I'm running stock speakers in the rear and decent 6.5s in the front, why spend more when I would have to put more money into the rest of it to make a difference)
