ok since steve was the man helping me he hasnt been on my msn or replyin to my private messages so im hoping you guys can help. ive been tryin to find a turbo now and i thought i had a good choice but turns out vital motion says i dont. im buildin my kl-de up EVERYTHING will be built soon enough i hope. im plannin 25psi. originally i was thinkin the precision turbos pt-63 with the .81 a/r. the other guys are saying this is too big that the lag will be horrible on my engine as a guy has a 3.8 with the pt-61 and much smaller a/r and he says he is boosted by 2600rpm but thats a 3.8 not a 2.5. can anyone help me this is drivin me nuts. steve says a t3/t4 is too small and ppl are sayin a t4 is to big.....i have no idea what to think and i just cant look at anymore turbos or im gonna freak out.

sorry I completely forgot about your pm. I open it then close it because I was at work and forgot about it.
About the t3-t4 being too small, well it was the case with me and you will be pushing your engine more than I did. 20+ psi is A LOT of boost.
You took a look at the compressor maps like I did and it's OBVIOUS it can handle the big boost. Well it can put you will sacrifice power.
a t3-t4 and a t4 is almost the same thing. the compressor maps are the same. The turbine only is different. the t3-t4 series was made for smaller displacemetn engines like ours to help spool faster but still create good power. a t4 is used on bigger displacement engines where their's enough exhaust to spool the turbine faster but will still create the same amount of power.
That's why I went with a big turbo (GT35R) for big power but the dual ball bearing feature will make it spool faster.
About your question on your pm. I am not 100% sure it will fit since I don't got it yet but believe me it WILL fit once I get it. minor modding to the piping and it will be good to go. That is IF it don't fits. It's not SO much bigger than the t3-t4's

well i went on vital motion and a guy said a gt30r with a 55lbs/min will be good he said it will spool faster and get me the power im lookin at the guys at VM try to help you as much power as possible but make u happy with it on streets and all both you and VM has helped ALOT you especially!
http://forums.vitalmotion.net/viewtopic.php?t=23405 thats the link if you wanna take a look it started off me askin about an intercooler and a wastegate but got into turbo stuff. for everyone wanting to get a turbo look in this thread on the 2nd page and there is very very good calculations! well i think i am gonna go a bit smaller than you were suggesting steve but not too much smaller.
http://www.agpturbo.com/product.php?pro ... 266&page=1 thats the turbo someone suggested and i was thinkin the .63 a/r and the t04e compressor since the calculations the stefan did on VM it came out to a 57lbs/min turbo for ideal street/strip car and thats a 55lbs/min so i should have very good top end with real good spool down low! long post srry

I don't know wich bumper you got but I think you have the stock bumper. I'd tried to fit the biggest in there (tiny space). it will not be too big, trust me. don't get those tube and fin intercooler, make sure you choose a bar and plate style with a minimum pressure drop

does cfm matter? cuz im just thinkin the higher the cfm is the more flow but less velocity? i think yonaka has a 22x9x3 and a 26x12x3'' and are bar and plate 100% aluminum....the 26x12x3'' has a pressure drop of .40psi at 20psi here is a review of it

yeah but does that size intercooler "fits" ? That's the key word.
all depends if you have the stock bumper or not.
and yes cfm does matter

if you could source the book maximum boost that would help you a lot. I had it twice and lost them both. I tried to find it again today with no luck.
there's some formula's that can help you. I think you already have the book don't you ?

Get a full race intercooler rated at the Horsepowe youd like.
And call it done.
